On Friday, April 25th, CONNECT held its 5th annual Legislative Gathering and Awards Celebration at Cape Cod Community College’s Aviation Maintenance and Technology (AMT) Program at the Plymouth Airport. This year, we honored Governor Maura Healey and retired Senate President Therese Murray with our Distinguished State Leadership Award, for their dedication and support of public higher education. In addition, students from each of our CONNECT institutions ( Bridgewater State University, Bristol Community College, Cape Cod Community College, Massachusetts Maritime Academy, Massasoit Community College, and UMass Dartmouth), served as panelists and facilitated demonstrations that highlighted their workforce readiness skills. This year, we also had an additional feature in our program- CCCC has recently expanded its AMT program and we were delighted to partake in the ribbon cutting ceremony for their expanded hangars.

We would like to express our gratitude and appreciation to President Cox and his team for hosting this wonderful event! We are also grateful to our honorees, elected officials, students, the hospitality staff at Epicurean, Dorothy Cox Candies, and Bridgewater Trophy, for that that they did to make this a spectacular event for our 180 participants.
